Ball Mill Brief introduction :

Raw material is fed to a hollow cylinder through a hollow journal for grinding, which is filled with grinding media of various diameters (steel ball, steel bar or gravel, etc.).When the cylinder rotates around the horizontal axis at a certain speed, the medium and raw materials installed in the cylinder reach a certain height under the action of centrifugal force and friction force, and when their own gravity is greater than centrifugal force, they break away from the cylinder body wall and fall or roll down, crushing the ore due to the impact force.At the same time, the sliding motion between the grinding medium also produces grinding effect on the raw material during the rotation of the mill.The ground material is discharged through a hollow journal.


Test run of ball mill:
Upon completion of the ball mill installation and passing inspection, the test run of the ball mill can be carried out without truck. The test run of the ball mill shall be carried out by skilled ball mill operators and the safe operation rules of the ball mill shall be strictly observed.
(1) The continuous running time of empty operation shall be no less than 12-24 hours. Problems found during operation shall be solved in time.
(2) The load test run can be carried out when the empty running test machine is normal. The load test run should be carried out in stages. In the load operation, feeding should be carried out according to the discharging situation to avoid unnecessary abrasion and damage of the steel ball and the cylinder lining plate.
a) Add appropriate materials and 1/3 of the amount of steel balls (the maximum amount of balls can be seen in the general drawing of the ball mill) for 12-24 hours for test run.
b) Add in 2/3 of the steel balls and run for 24-48 hours.
c) According to the discharge conditions of the ball mill, the output of qualified products and the actual ball loading amount of the ball mill of the same concentrator, the reasonable ball loading amount of the ball mill shall be determined and the test run shall be conducted for not less than 72 hours.
(3) The increase of the above load and the length of the test run are determined on the basis of the running conditions of the big and small gears and reducer gears (temperature rise, noise, tooth surface contact, etc.).In the tooth surface contact precision does not meet the design requirements, not full load operation.
(4) In the test run, the cooling and lubrication system should work normally, and the temperature of the main bearing, transmission bearing and reducer should be normal.
(5) After loading 2/3 of the number of steel balls into the test run for 24-48 hours, all bolts should be checked and tightened again.
(6) The test run should be carefully recorded.
